The Project Manager, People and Culture role has a critical role in ensuring that program activities align with the Land and Sea Management Strategy 2016-2036.

The Project Manager is responsible, under the leadership of the Program Manager, for operational and financial management of the People and Culture projects and activities together with leading senior project officers and project officers within the program.

The Project Manager will be using a holistic approach to compile and interpret information and relate this back to the strategic direction of the Environmental Management Program and the TSRA.

Tasks will be varied and may include:

  1. Work as part of the program’s leadership team to align operations of the program with the overall Torres Strait Development Plan. Monitor and report against appropriate Environmental Management project plans, budgets, outputs and performance indications as described in the program plan.
  2. Provide high level support and advice to the TSRA Board, CEO and Program Manager and assist in the management of the Environmental Management Program as required.
  3. Contribute to strategic planning, policy development, managing, implementing, and monitoring projects related to projects and activities.
  4. Preparation of briefing papers, reports, project schedules, correspondence, website material and other written documents for both internal and external audiences.
  5. Represent, liaise and build relationships with stakeholder agencies and community organisations including identifying and developing linkages, especially with the Fisheries program and between program and policies and working collaboratively across the TSRA.
  6. Provide leadership for the Senior Project Officers and Project Officers working in the Environmental Management program, monitor their performance and support their development. Participate in recruitment and selection processes for Environmental Management program team members and at times, to support recruitment for other TSRA programs.
  7. Other policy related projects, tasks and activities as directed by the Program Manager.
