EBS Restoration provides on-ground services aimed at re-establishing, enhancing and protecting native vegetation in both natural and built environments within South Australia. As a leading Bushcare provider to government and non-government organisations EBS Restoration has a reputation for quality and service. We are seeking a suitable, enthusiastic, self-motivated person(s) with high level attention to detail to join our on-ground team.

As part of the EBS Restoration team you will perform a variety of tasks including weed spraying, woody weed control, brush cutting and revegetation. The successful applicant will be trained in all equipment and techniques. A team player with a keen interest and willingness to further develop environmental skills, you will have the ability to take direction and be adaptable to changing working conditions. You will also be willing to work flexible hours in varying weather conditions and challenging terrain, observe all OHS&W policies and practices, and have an excellent level of physical fitness. Good communication skills and the ability to interact with staff will be essential.

Responsibilities

Participate in a variety of on-ground restoration activities including bush regeneration and integrated weed control programmes (chemical and mechanical).

The successful applicant will be required to perform the following tasks:

  • Woody weed removal - including feeding chipper.
  • Drill and fill of woody weed species.
  • Brush cutting.
  • Revegetation.
  • Hand weeding and spraying herbicides (under supervision).
  • General maintenance tasks such as raking and shovelling.
  • WHS responsibility for own safety and safety of colleagues and public.

Essential requirements:

  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Current drivers' licence and own vehicle to travel to designated worksites.

Desired skills / experience / qualifications:

  • Qualifications in Bushcare / Natural Resource / Environment Management or relevant experience.
  • Excellent native plant and weed identification skills.
  • Demonstrated team worker.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Knowledge of current trends in Bushcare and Environmental matters.
  • Experience in the use of bushcare tools such as brush cutters, chainsaws and spray packs.
  • Full Pest Management Technicians Licence.
  • Current First Aid.
  • Chainsaw use and maintenance.
  • MR licence.
  • Current Work Zone Traffic Management Accreditation.
