If you’re ready to grow with a growing company, come and see if our people are your people.

About the opportunity

Eco Logical Australia (ELA) exists to empower people to make a difference. We pride ourselves as being Approachable Experts, who lead with science and technology to help our clients navigate complex projects, achieving the best possible outcome for them and the environment.

We are looking for the newest members of our bush regeneration team and are open to all levels of skills and experience.

As an ELA bush regenerator, you will be involved in a wide variety of projects and environments across Western Sydney. The types of projects we undertake include rehabilitation of urban and infrastructure sites, and conservation areas such as council reserves.

You will work on projects that include weed control, revegetation and erosion control across a variety of vegetation communities and varying condition, providing a great opportunity to increase your knowledge of local native and weed species. The role is physically demanding, and involves daily use of brushcutters, chainsaws and backpack sprayers.

When you join our team, you’ll get satisfaction from working in your outdoor ‘office’ and seeing bare development sites transformed into natural bushland over time.

About you

This role will allow you to combine your passion for bush regeneration with your enthusiasm to learn new skills to create great environmental outcomes.

To join our team, you will have:

  • A passion for bush regeneration
  • A love of outdoor work
  • Practical, problem-solving skills
  • An enthusiastic and helpful approach to your work, and your team
  • An appropriate level of fitness to perform a physically demanding role
  • Current drivers’ licence
  • A willingness to travel to sites located across mostly North-western and South-western Sydney and, on occasion, the Illawarra.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working as a bush regenerator
  • Certificate II or III Conservation and Ecosystem Management
  • White Card
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Chemical user accreditation (e.g. Chemcert)
  • Experience using herbicide and herbicide equipment such as backpack, boom and high-volume sprayers
  • Experience using powered equipment such as chainsaws, brush cutters and augers
  • Experience and/or qualifications using bobcats, positracks, chippers, slashers and other agricultural machinery
  • Manual drivers’ licence, the ability to drive a 4WD and tow a trailer.

We will offer you

We pay according to the Gardening and Landscaping Services Award, offering above-Award salaries to our permanent employees.

As a full time or part time employee you’ll be able to take advantage of a range of benefits including one weeks’ inclement weather leave, a gender neutral 12 weeks paid parental leave policy, an employee stock purchase program, salary sacrifice into super, and health and wellbeing initiatives.

Oh, and let’s not forget the birthday leave benefit (that’s right, you get an extra day off for your birthday!).
