The Ranger, Nilpena Ediacara National Park role presents an incredible new opportunity in South Australia’s National Parks and Wildlife Service. Imagine watching the sun set daily on the magnificent northern Flinders Ranges, truly one of the jewels in the crown of the parks service and the centrepiece of the South Australian Government’s current bid for world heritage recognition for the region.

The Ranger will work under the Ranger in Charge, as a key member of the Flinders and Outback Region to manage the day to day operations of the park, with core responsibilities including presentation and maintenance of a small interpretive centre, managing enquiries and bookings and the delivery of tours twice weekly for park visitors, the protection and surveillance of globally significant Ediacaran fossil deposits, overseeing onsite contractors and the management of wide ranging conservation and cultural heritage values across the 65,000 hectare park.

The Ranger also builds meaningful relationships with key partners, including park neighbours, palaeontologists, researchers, conservation partners and Aboriginal communities.
