This is a Permanent, Full-Time position (Part-Time or Job-Share may be considered).

The Forest Management Plan 2024-2033 (FMP) aims to improve the health of Western Australia’s south-west forests and conserve its unique biodiversity against the impacts of our drying climate. 

This role supports the Stakeholder and Community Engagement Coordinator, Forest Management Plan (FMP) to deliver communication and engagement activities to stakeholders and the community using various channels and activities to support key deliverables and positively impact DBCA’s reputation.

Under the general direction of the Stakeholder and Community Engagement Coordinator (FMP), this position:

  • Engages with a range of stakeholders including state and local government, community organisations, industry groups and the general public to deliver key messages from the Forest Management Plan 2024-2033 (FMP).
  • Assists in the development and delivery of the FMP stakeholder and community engagement plan.
  • Manages the FMP stakeholder database to ensure information is accurately captured and reporting reflects FMP objectives.
  • Creates and prepares a range of communications to support the FMP including digital content, newsletters, fact sheets, presentations, and information stands in line with DBCA and FMP style guides.
  • Establishes and maintains effective professional relationships and responds to stakeholder and community enquiries.

Selection Criteria 

  1. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience creating content for websites, newsletters, social media, information flyers and local (regional) media. 
  2. Experience in managing databases and developing reports to reflect business or project objectives. 
  3. Sound research, analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to show initiative and commitment to follow up on matters, proactively sourcing information and drawing on available resources to respond to stakeholder queries and provide excellent customer service.
  4. Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment to achieve outcomes/results within timelines through being agile, curious and solutions focused.
