We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Project Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to project managers and ensuring the smooth running of projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work well under pressure, and have a strong understanding of project management methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Writing professional reports relating to operational activities: bushfire hazard mitigation, conservation and land management, landscape construction, and landscaping and gardening maintenance
  • Managing the purchase, maintenance, servicing and disposal of tools, equipment and machinery
  • Establishing, reviewing, implementing and continually improving Quality, Environmental and Workplace health and safety (QES) management systems and compliance and performance within the Operations Team  
  • Client liaison: providing quotes for works, following up on quotes provided, communicating with clients in regards to completion of works plus associated reports etc….
  • As required, contributing to and leading Operations Team training to improve performance,
  • Providing administrative support relevant to Operations, such as drafting invoices, creating/reviewing work plans and works scheduling/staff rostering.
  • Assist with project planning, including creating project timelines and tracking progress
  • Monitor project budgets and expenses, and report any discrepancies to project managers
  • Coordinate project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials
  • Ensure project documentation is up-to-date and accurate
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, and
  • And other tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • Relevant horticultural qualification, and/or demonstrated relevant experience
  • Proven experience in project support or project coordination
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software
