As our Senior Soil Conservation Officer, you will:

  • Negotiate, lead, and conduct soil conservation activities within the Reefplan Grazing Extension Support Project, GRASS and Grazing Livestock Business Resilience projects (https://futurebeef.com.au/) in north and central Queensland, restoring productivity and enhancing the environmental sustainability of Queensland’s extensive beef industry.
  • Lead, develop and manage projects to improve best practice alluvial gully remediation options, increase stakeholder knowledge and skills and reduce sediment pollution (Spyglass remediation project)
  • Provide professional leadership to develop a high performing state-wide soil conservation team through establishment of a community of practice (including external collaborators) and recruitment and mentoring of staff to grow a specialised industry skillset.
