About the role

We are seeking to appoint a Planning Support Officer to provide coordination and administrative support to the busy South West Planning team.

You will provide support to the Senior Team Leader and work with all team members to coordinate quality, timely advice on biodiversity and flood planning matters to a range of stakeholders. You will be responsible for managing electronic mailboxes and planning referrals, assist experienced technical staff with assessments, and play an active role in the team’s business improvement processes.

Key knowledge and experience:

  • Experience in the use of computer-based systems and records management systems
  • Knowledge and experience of working in a fast paced and high work volume office, including a proven capacity to support senior level staff in the management of projects and issues
  • Ability to understand environmental planning and assessment legislation with a focus on the protection of biodiversity
  • Knowledge and understanding of ecological management principles and capacity to use geographical information systems

Essential requirements:

  • Current Driver’s Licence
