MidCoast Council's Natural Systems department is responsible for safeguarding our region's natural environment. This includes partnering with other organisations, landholders and community groups to protect and preserve our landscape and catchments, coastal areas, endangered ecological communities and threatened species. This department also manages weeds and biosecurity, and monitors and reports on the condition of our waterways and the environment.
The role
Are you an environmental professional looking to make an impact on the future for the community you live in? We have an opportunity for a 12-month fixed term Environmental Officer Catchment and Estuary. This position will work closely with our Catchment Management and Water Quality and Estuary teams to support the implementation of projects and initiatives for catchments, estuaries, and water quality assessments.
This is a multi-faceted role within a dynamic, experienced team of environmental professionals. Your project management experience, communication skills, and ability to engage and influence a range of stakeholders will be integral in improving environmental outcomes for our region.

Salary: Starting salary $91,806 p.a. plus superannuation (negotiable based on skills and experience).
Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: 12 month fixed term. 35 hours per week.
