Trainee Grower – Narromine Transplants, Narromine, NSW

Narromine Transplants is a large-scale native tree seedling, forestry, fruit and nut tree nursery based in the Central West of New South Wales. The nursery has been operating for almost 40 years and is a leader and innovator in containerised plant production.

We are looking for an individual to join our staff as a grower, under the supervision of the head grower, to eventually take responsibility for a section of the nursery.

Responsibilities would include: watering and fertilising; monitoring weeds, pests, and diseases; management of small teams.

It is expected that the successful applicant will have the necessary motivation and interest to become part of the nursery management team and be able to work as required, within that group or alone.

We would expect the applicant to have the following:

• A genuine desire to be involved nursery production
• An interest in plants
• Basic computer skills esp. spreadsheets
• Additional consideration given to relevant tertiary qualifications.
• Current driver’s licence
• Be physically fit
• A well-developed work ethic and able to make decisions for themselves
• Be well presented and have a record of punctuality
• Available to eventually work on a weekend roster

Training will be given to the right applicant for:

• Forklift licence
• First aid certificate
• ChemCert certification

Salary: $50000 to $70000 depending on experience and qualifications
