Environmental Weed Control & Revegetation has been in operation since 1999 specialising in providing quality bush regeneration and revegetation services. Our objective is to provide these services with an ethical and holistic outlook that aids in the conservation, enhancement and promotion of South Australia’s indigenous flora and associated fauna.

Works are predominately undertaken throughout the Barossa region, Northern & Central Mount Lofty Ranges and Northeast foothills.

About you

You must be a motivated Conservationist with a strong interest in South Australia’s indigenous flora, feel comfortable working in the elements across a range of different and sometimes challenging terrains and have a high level of fitness. You are a flexible and cooperative team member, but also have the ability to work independently when needed with good time management and communication skills.

The Role

The position involves undertaking sensitive weed control using a range of different techniques and herbicides to protect native vegetation across a variety of different sites and seasonal revegetation works.

The role is offered on a casual basis after a 3-month trial period (paid). Wages will be determined on level of experience and ability.

Essential Criteria

To be considered for this position candidates must possess:

  • Certificate in Conservation and Land Management or equivalent on-ground experience in minimal disturbance bush regeneration.
  • Be physically fit and able to work in the elements.
  • Plant identification skills, including weeds and native species.
  • Hold a current driver’s license, have reliable car transport and able to drive a manual car.
  • Experience in spot spraying in native vegetation.
  • Have a good eye for detail.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable Criteria but not essential:

  • Trees for Life member/volunteer
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Current Workzone Traffic Management Certificate
  • Chainsaw Certificate
  • Experience in GPS use
  • 4WD experience including towing trailers
