About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated graduate or early career person to be based in our Armidale office to assist with large scale renewable energy and mining developments in the New England and Northwest regions of NSW. This is a great opportunity to gain real site environmental compliance and impact assessment experience on some of the largest renewable energy and mining projects in the country. 

This role is based in Armidale. If you will be relocating to Armidale to take this role a relocation package will be provided for the right candidate to support you and set you up for success.

Key accountabilities of the role are

  • contribute to the preparation of environmental assessments, environmental impact statements, environmental management plans, environmental reports, and auditing compliance
  • analyse environmental data and information to assess environmental risks and identify and advise on mitigation strategies, plans and programs to address environmental impacts of a development project.
  • work collaboratively with teams across the business (and client representatives as required) to achieve project objectives, contribute to project meetings and update Project Managers on project status and risks.
  • complete tasks in accordance with agreed timeframes, budgets, scope of work and outcomes and ensure project deliverables meet high-quality standards.
  • communicate effectively with teams across the business, including external contractors and client representatives as required.
  • stay up to date with emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in the environmental consulting field.
  • contribute to building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • contribute to business development opportunities and prepare fee proposals and tender submissions
  • exemplify the company’s vision and values.

About You – Skills and experience

You will have:

  • a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, urban and regional planning, or other relevant subject
  • 1 – 2 years’ experience in consulting or onsite environmental management (beneficial, but not essential)
  • sound analytical, problem-solving and organisation skills
  • general knowledge of relevant environmental and planning regulatory frameworks and processes
  • demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills, including ability to write clearly
