The Opportunity

Are you interested in playing a key part of a dynamic new Division? This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated and skilled team in the Assurance and Biodiversity Stewardship Branch responsible for the coordination and management of the biodiversity stewardship agreement program across NSW.

The Biodiversity Stewardship Coordination team is responsible for coordinating the receipt and review of applications for Biodiversity Stewardship Agreements consistent with statutory functions and operational policies. The team also leads the governance and reporting functions of the biodiversity stewardship program which aims to increase in the supply of biodiversity credits by proactively supporting landholders to enter into biodiversity stewardship agreements that manage and conserve plant communities and threatened species.

About You

To be the successful applicant you will have:

  • Extensive experience in the development and delivery of conservation programs with the ability to work in a highly complex and rapidly evolving environment
  • Demonstrated experience working in and/or leading a multidisciplinary team
  • A background and experience in the interpretation of legislation and implementing statutory functions related to land or property management, conservation planning and assessment issues
  • foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholder groups and regional landholders, while maintaining high level awareness of customer needs, program targets and best practice environmental outcomes
