- Night Positions, 8th October 2024 - 24th January 2025 (can be whole period, or broken into one-month contracts for suitable applicants)

The Care for Hedland Environmental Association seeks two motivated team players to assist with the co-ordination of the 2024/2025 Port Hedland Community Flatback Turtle Monitoring Program. Care For Hedland is looking for two Evening Program Coordinators (times tidal dependent, including late nights & some weekends). The contracts could be broken down into one-month periods or negotiated set periods for suitable applicants.

Experience in the collection of scientific data from nesting turtles - flipper tagging, PIT tagging and biometric information (longitudinal & width and individual animal health) and nest excavations ideal and previous experience with working with volunteers and providing guided tours viewed favourably.

Scientific Turtle Monitoring Program Coordinator

- Night Position, 8th October - 20th December 2024

Experience in leading beach patrols, coordinating and conducting the collection of scientific data from nesting sea turtles particularly flipper tagging, PIT tagging and biometrics information (longitudinal & width and individual animal health) and nest excavation marking preferred and previous experience training and with working with volunteers viewed favourably.

Morning Turtle Monitoring Program Coordinator

- Morning Position, 8th October 2024 - 28th February 2025 (can be whole period, or broken into one-month contracts for suitable applicants).

The Care for Hedland Environmental Association seeks a motivated team player to assist with the co-ordination of the 2024/2025 Port Hedland Community Flatback Turtle Monitoring Program. Care For Hedland is looking for one Morning Program Coordinators (including early mornings & some weekends). The contract could be broken down into one-month periods or negotiated set periods for suitable applicants.

Experience in leading beach track count morning monitoring program, hatchling emergence nest marking, and training volunteers to collect turtle beach track data, in collaboration with Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions. In addition to utilising local media, including social media to promote the program, recruit volunteers, and carry out school talks and community presentations. Previous experience training and with working with volunteers viewed favourably.
