An opportunity has arisen within Council’s Environment team for an experienced Senior Biodiversity Officer.
The role is responsible for the provision of biodiversity related advice to staff throughout the organisation and to external stakeholders. It is also responsible for the development and review of strategies, policies, processes and reports that influence biodiversity outcomes for the Liverpool Local Government Area. Due to the rapid growth within the region, the role has a large focus on development applications, planning proposals, infrastructure delivery and activities.
The role requires a thorough understanding of biodiversity related legislation, policies and reporting requirements, particularly within the context of impact assessment. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are also important, with an ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders in a variety of forms.
