About the opportunity

We are looking for a Field Ecologist and Site Lead to join our team based in Ingleburn and contribute to projects from across the Sydney Metropolitan region.

This role will support the ecology and post-approvals teams and will involve planning and undertaking field surveys (including fauna handling), report writing and tender preparation, project management assistance, and research and logistical support.

You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, which deliver innovative environmental and ecological solutions for our clients.

You will gain on-the-job training and mentoring from experienced environmental professionals as you contribute to projects in the fields of ecological assessment, and vegetation management and monitoring.

About you:

To be successful, you will have:

  • A passion for ecology and the environment.
  • Experience in fauna handling, ideally as part of flora and fauna surveys.
  • Strong time and budget management skills.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills, ideally preparing field notes and contributing to reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • A baseline level of physical fitness and agility that will enable your participation in field work in a variety of terrains.
  • Current driver's licence, and can tow a trailer.
  • Australian citizenship or residency.

It would also be great if you had:

  • A degree in environmental science or related discipline.
  • Experience in restoration ecology, including bush regeneration.
  • A manual driver's licence.
