The Company

Gunn Agri Partners (GAP) was established in 2013 and provides agricultural investment and farm management services for Australian, North American, and European investors. GAP manages $800m of assets and commitments managed by the following platforms: 

  • Gunn Agri Cattle Fund incorporating Cunningham Cattle Co investing in northern cattle production.
  • Wollemi Farms, investing in permanent crop assets for lease.
  • Transforming Farming incorporating Faulkner Farming investing in cropping and livestock farms and developing natural assets such as carbon sequestration and biodiversity.
  • Wilga Farming Australia investing in cropping and livestock farms and developing natural assets such as carbon sequestration and biodiversity.

As manager Gunn Agri has oversight of the operating platforms. The platforms have their own teams of property managers employed by the operating companies (i.e. Faulkner Farming, Wilga Farming, Cunningham Cattle Co).

The Position

We are seeking an experienced Restoration Manager to lead and manage the Environmental Plantings program across our property portfolio. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for planning and executing site-specific restoration projects, including seed sourcing, site preparation, planting activities, and follow-up monitoring and maintenance

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Environmental Plantings revegetation works across the business, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and operational schedules.
  • Oversee full project life cycle management, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager, Ag Operations Manager, and Natural Capital team to optimize farm plans for production, biodiversity, and carbon outcomes.
  • Conduct field surveys, including vegetation identification and ecological mapping.
  • Develop and execute native vegetation restoration plans, covering species selection, seed sourcing, site preparation, planting, and maintenance within budget.
  • Oversee the revegetation process, coordinating resources such as the internal restoration team, external contractors, and on-farm teams.
  • Assist with integrating biodiversity management activities into agricultural practices.
  • Prepare and present detailed project reports, documentation, and performance updates.
  • Monitor trends and innovations, recommending strategies for business improvement.
  • Travel within Australia and occasional visits to support offices as required.

The Candidate

To be successful in the role you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in science, ecology or related field
  • Expertise in restoration ecology in agricultural landscapes
  • Proven demonstration of skillset in a similar role 8+ years.
  • Demonstrate expertise in overseeing the full project life cycle, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to keep stakeholders engaged and updated.
  • Current driver’s licence and ability to undertake frequent travel.
