About Us - Landscape and Open Space Planning Team

We are a small but mighty team providing four Council Services, Landscape Assessment, Landscape Surveillance, Open Space Planning and Greening Whittlesea. We are the sponsors of the public realm and stewards of the Open Space Network and Tree Portfolio. Our work is guided by W2040 Strategies and the strategic plans we oversee including the Open Space Strategy, Greening Whittlesea Strategy, Landscape Guidelines, standards and policy.

The Role

The Greening Whittlesea Planner champions, co-ordinates and drives the implementation of the Greening Whittlesea Strategy with the objective of Council becoming an exemplar in the protection, enhancement, management, and engagement of the City Forest. Working with professionals across Council we are rapidly transforming to meet the evolving challenges faced by a contemporary future focused City and the critical role our City Forest plays.

About you

You are passionate about making a difference to the liveability and sustainability of the environment and have worked in Local Government or the environmental sector. You have qualifications in landscape archictecture, environmental science, open space planning, or similar with skills in GIS and graphic representation. You enjoy working in a dynamic, collaborative team setting and engaging the community to make positive change.
