About the Role

The Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board is looking for a talented leader to lead a team of committed pest plant and animal management experts and deliver a range of programs and projects in accordance with the Murraylands and Riverland Regional Landscape Plan.

Working with the Manager Sustainable Landscapes, this role is a key driver for contributing to effective community engagement and the operational delivery of landscape management objectives at the district scale, with a clear focus on pest, plant and animal management programs.

Our operational priorities include sustainable agriculture, water resources, biodiversity, community engagement and compliance requirements under the Landscape South Australia Act 2019. The District Manager works across the Murraylands district to coordinate and integrate community and stakeholder engagement in landscape programs and projects.

It's a role that offers abundant variety, and challenge, while providing opportunity for the successful candidate to flex their full range of skills.

About You

You are committed to environmental sustainability and love working with a range of stakeholders with interests in land management, biodiversity, and sustainable agriculture. You’re a hands-on leader who enjoys achieving targets and empowering others to achieve theirs.

You will bring technical expertise in pest plant and animal management, qualifications in environmental science or natural resources management (or similar), along with stakeholder management skills and you’re keen to join an employer who supports your learning and growth.

You will relish being part of a professional team who are committed to the sustainable management of our precious landscapes.

About the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board

The Murraylands and Riverland region extends from where the River Murray crosses the border into South Australia, through the northern Mallee to the foot of the Eastern Mount Lofty Ranges; from the Rangelands in the north to the southern Mallee and Murray Mouth in the south. The region covers approximately 53,780 square kilometres.

The Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board is responsible for administering the Landscape South Australia Act 2019, which is the framework for managing the state’s land, water, pest plants and animals, and biodiversity, within the Murraylands and Riverland region.

Our key priorities are outlined in the Regional Landscape Plan, with a stronger focus on climate resilience and biodiversity to support the development of resilient landscapes and sustainable primary production.
