About AEP:

With offices in Sydney and Newcastle, employing over 50 staff AEP works throughout NSW providing high level environmental services including comprehensive arboriculture assessments. 

AEP specializes in tree assessments, vegetation management and ecological planning for sectors including conservation, government, energy, land development infrastructure, legal, mining and quarrying.

The role is offered as a full-time position based in our Sydney or Newcastle office, but happy to consider other locations for experience applicants.

Your role will involve conducting tree assessments, preparing arborist reports, and providing expert advice to clients on tree management and preservation strategies.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Conduct tree inspections and assessments in accordance with industry standards and client requirements;
  • Prepare detailed arborist impact assessment reports; documenting tree, health, risk assessments and recommendations for tree maintenance or removal.
  • Provide expert advice to clients on tree care, preservation and relevant local regulations;
  • Ensure compliance with planning and environmental regulations;
  • Develop and implement tree management plans;
  • Ensure that you are staying current with industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies in arboriculture;

Experience & Skills

  • 3-5 year practical experience in arboriculture
  • Relevant experience in a consulting capacity
  • Strong knowledge of tree species identification, tree health and urban forestry practices;
  • Proficiency in using GIS software for mapping and analysis of tree data. Ideally using the ESRI software package is highly desirable;
  • Proficiency in conducting tree assessments and preparing comprehensive arborist reports.

Qualifications

  • Diploma of Arboriculture (AQF 5) or relevant qualifications / experience to fulfill the role;
  • Can – do attitude, regardless of the task before you;
  • Current driver’s license and willingness to travel for site visits;
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex arboricultural concepts to clients, project mangers and colleagues.
  • Ability to have a laugh
