About the role

South East Queensland Resilient Alliance (SEQCRA) is a collaborative approach between several SEQ Councils who have acknowledged the need to work together to facilitate the region's transition to net zero by delivering:

  • Climate change mitigation and adaptation projects
  • Influencing policy and programs through advocacy
  • Building the capacity of its members and stakeholders

The purpose of the alliance is to deliver collaborative activity at a scale beyond any individual council to minimise climate risks to the SEQ region, whilst supporting its member councils to create climate-resilient communities.

As SEQ Climate Resilient Alliance Coordinator you will be the lead representative for SEQCRA which will be responsible for the overall management, administration, and operation of SEQCRA on behalf of the member councils with the purpose to build climate resilience in SEQ.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate and facilitate the identification and implementation of projects and initiatives that meet the strategic objectives and priorities set out by the SEQCRA
  • Manage the development, coordination, implementation and monitoring of SEQCRA’s governance requirements, including but not limited to the strategic plan, annual advocacy priorities, annual implementation plan, annual report 
  • Identify opportunities for external funding, sponsorship and other external resources to deliver the strategic objectives and initiatives

About you

We are seeking an experienced candidate who has a passion for sustainability and making a positive environmental impact. 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Degree in Environmental Management, Sustainable Development or Natural Resource Management or environmental economics, engineering or similar
  • A current Queensland C class driver’s licence
  • Post graduate qualifications in a related field is desirable

This is a two (2) year fixed term position at Level 6 with a salary commencing at $100,533 plus superannuation of up to 12.5%.
