The Role

As the Sustainable Agriculture Specialist, you play a vital role in supporting the teams managing the campus farms and other university assets. You will help develop and implement operational plans that align with our Strategic Plan 2023 - 2030, enhancing our teaching and research activities and targets outlined in relevant Australian sustainability frameworks. The relevant sustainability frameworks include Australian Sheep Sustainability Framework, Australian Beef Sustainability Framework and Australian Grains Sustainability Framework.

Key outcomes addressed by the farm management plan will include:

  • Responsible environmental stewardship.
  • Animal health and welfare outcomes.
  • Looking after our people, stakeholder and community.

What you'll bring to this role:

  • An understanding of and expertise in Australian farming systems, sustainability frameworks and sustainability issues.
  • Track record in delivering exceptional sustainability outcomes in commercial or research agricultural operations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively on complex issues.
  • C class driver's licence.
