The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions is committed to promoting biodiversity and conservation to enrich people's lives, through sustainable management of Western Australia's species, ecosystems, lands and the attractions in the department's care

This is a 36-month fixed-term, part-time (0.6 FTE) position (from August 2024, with the possibility of extension)

Under limited supervision, this position implements the Dirk Hartog Island National Park Return to 1616 Ecological Restoration Project's Community Engagement Strategy, including:

  • Engaging with Malgana traditional owners and key stakeholders to develop and implement community engagement projects aligned with the Community Engagement Strategy.
  • Coordinating and leading engagement with schools and developing and promoting educational materials.
  • Developing community information programs, products.
  • Leading and coordinating community engagement events.
  • Engaging the public to raise awareness of the significance of the Project at local, State, national and international scales.

The successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current Working With Children Check and a current and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.
