Natural Area Consulting Management Services (Natural Area) are seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to contribute to leadership within our Perth based Environmental Consulting Team.

Our Environmental Consulting Team operates from a modern office in the suburb of Malaga. This Perth based position involves both office and field works. Our Environmental Consulting Team undertakes various projects including; flora, vegetation and fauna surveys, environmental management plans and approvals.

Natural Area is a wholly Western Australian, family owned and operated company focused on providing on-ground environmental management as well as environmental consulting to various clients throughout local government, mining and resource sectors, private companies, property developers, landowners and community groups. To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant scientific tertiary qualification(s) or other related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years professional experience in the environmental consulting industry.
  • Strong understanding of relevant local, state and Commonwealth legislation and policies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in project management including client liaison, budgeting and scheduling.
  • Experience in preparing a range of high-quality industry reports, data analysis and GIS mapping.
  • Experience as a leader within a team, providing technical advice, mentorship and training to the wider consulting team.

Are you a good fit for Natural Area? The answer is Yes, if you meet the following mandatory requirements:

  • Completed a relevant Environmental Science/Conservation qualification from university.
  • 5+ years of work experience in a similar role.
  • Available to work 5 full workdays per week (typical office hours being 7am to 3:30pm).
  • Attention to detail, genuine care and passion for native environments and conservation.
  • Physically fit, self-motivated and able to function in a team environment.
  • High level of organisation and the ability to prioritise and forward plan work loads.
  • Self-motivated, demonstrating resilience to meet deadlines.
  • Currently living in WA and Australian/New Zealand resident/citizen.

The following specific personal documentation are required for employment:

  • Manual WA Drivers Licence: C class or higher required.
  • National Police clearance.

We have a no-tolerance drug and alcohol policy (with random testing). Salary is negotiated based upon qualifications and experience.
