Key responsibilities:.

As the Gippsland Safety Partner (Coordinator), you will report to the Regional General Manager. This role is a great career opportunity for a pragmatic individual with operational and field based safety experience.

You would play a key role with supporting and providing advice to the Gippsland Region team in meeting key safety targets, and complying with company policies, procedures, plans and processes.

This role is based in our HVP Churchill office in Gippsland - A place of all kinds of wonder!

Other aspects of this role are to;.

  • Develop and implement safety initiatives for forest industry improvement.
  • Coordinate regional safety training and audits for staff and contractors.
  • Lead investigations and reporting of workplace incidents and near misses.
  • Promote safe work practices.
  • Work with a core group of safety professionals within HVP, to assist in guiding both regional and corporate initiatives focusing in continuous improvement.
  • Oversight of recreational and community safety issues impacting the plantation estate.

To thrive in this role, you will ideally possess:.

  • A positive outlook and proactive approach to safety.
  • Proficient in field-based operational tasks and safety protocols.
  • Skilled in fostering positive relationships with staff, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership in promoting a cooperative safety culture.
  • Knowledgeable in high-risk operations and contractor safety management.
  • Capable of administering Safety Management Systems and proficient in report writing and analytics, with an aptitude for online safety systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A diploma in OH&S or Certificate IV in OH&S and contemporary workplace experience in the field, or experience in safety auditing would be well regarded.

Other information

  • This position may require you to travel to other HVP office locations and at times, overnight travel. A current Australian driver's licence is required.
