The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions is committed to promoting biodiversity and conservation to enrich people's lives, through sustainable management of Western Australia's species, ecosystems, lands and the attractions in the department's care.

These are Fixed-Term, Full-Time Positions (DBCA3067896 Until 19 January 2025 and DBCA3139419 Until 30 June 2025).

This position:

  • Assists the Riverbank Program Manager with the coordination, planning, developing and implementation of the Swan Canning Riverpark Urban Forest and Riverbank Program initiatives.
  • This position provides collaborative project management with foreshore land managers, advice on foreshore and revegetation management activities and other initiatives associated with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Riverbank Program.
  • It also supports other environmental management initiatives of the River Systems Management Unit and the Rivers and Estuaries Branch, consistent with the River Protection Strategy.

The successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.

Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated (Level 4) or considerable (Level 5) ability to undertake project and administrative support activities including the ability to prepare, collate, analyse and organise data, outputs and financial information.
  2. Demonstrated (Level 4) or considerable (Level 5) ability to develop practical solutions to problems.
  3. Ability to work constructively, both independently and as part of a team, to organise work and meet deadlines with the flexibility to meet changing requirements.
  4. Good (Level 4) or well-developed (Level 5) written and oral communication skills, including an ability to negotiate with internal and external clients on business and/or financial outcomes.
  5. Considerable environmental management experience and knowledge (DESIRABLE).
