We are seeking a full-time Environmental Team Leader to join our Perth team to help us continue to deliver on our vision to 'leave a lasting impression on landscapes and people'.

Company Background and Role Purpose

Main Activities and Responsibilities

Lead field crews in the delivery of our revegetation and seed collection projects by:

  • Co-ordinating and directing the tasks of field personnel, predominantly but not limited to; native seed collection, planting and weed control.
  • Having responsibility for field activity quality control.
  • Ensuring that internal standards and HS&E legislation are met, with safety given paramount importance.
  • Working closely with project managers to understand and deliver project scope.
  • Tracking progress, productivity, and timesheets through templates, registers, databases, and GIS.
  • Training, and mentoring field technicians, and.
  • Other duties including but not limited to: revegetation monitoring, site maintenance, equipment maintenance, site preparation, seed processing, seed testing, and herbarium development, etc.

Qualifications

  • Field based experience as a team leader.
  • Current driver's license.

Experience and Credentials (Desired But Not Essential)

  • Leadership experience.
  • Environmental qualification.
  • Experience in seed collection and/or revegetation methods.
  • Knowledge of native plant and weed species.
  • Experience operating and maintaining parks and gardens mechanical hand tools (i.e., brushcutters, augers, etc.).
  • Experience in manual and chemical weed management techniques.
  • 4WD experience.

Our ideal candidate has a base knowledge of local environments in the Perth/Southwest area and issues commonly faced in managing them, gained through practical experience. They will also be a self-confident individual that knows their role within a team, being able to provide both support and leadership as required. The works undertaken by Tranen require staff to be physically fit, as field works are varied and can be physically demanding.
