Your new role
We are looking for two Ranger Coordinators at Jawoyn Rangers as the team continues to expand. One of these roles will oversee and coordinate the Ngalmuka (Women) rangers and the other role will coordinate the Mungguy (Men) rangers. There is work that is done together as a whole ranger team, but also some projects that are specific to Women and to Men.
The Ranger Coordinators are responsible for managing a large team of Indigenous Rangers to deliver Conservation, Land Management and Cultural programs across the Jawoyn Country. The Ranger Coordinators work closely with the Land Manager, Fire Operations team, Healthy Country Projects Manager, Strongbala Wimun's Grup, and the Mungguy Men's Grup to deliver the annual Ranger work plan including fire management, feral animal & weed control, culture and knowledge transfer activities, and other projects outlined in the Healthy Country Plan.
The Ranger Coordinators are responsible for coordinating daily work operations and delivering on Country activities, as well as supporting rangers during training, on-the-job mentoring, and developing systems and resources. The Ranger Coordinators report to the Land Manager and are guided by the Healthy Country Monitoring and Evaluation Committee and Jawoyn Board of Directors to ensure the work plan delivers on Traditional Owners' aspirations, as set out in the 10-year Healthy Country Plan.
