South Australia is a national leader in the seafood industry with a strong export industry, a highly sustainable commercial fishing industry and the largest and most diverse aquaculture industry in the nation.

The Fisheries Management Officer contributes to tangible outcomes and plays an important part in managing South Australia’s fisheries resources, consistent with ecologically sustainable development and other objects of the Fisheries Management Act 2007.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate excellent writing skills, ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with staff and external stakeholders, ability to plan and prioritise work, and possess a sound knowledge of fisheries management as it applies to South Australia.

The Fisheries Management Officer is part of a team within the Fisheries Policy and Management Unit of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Division, PIRSA.
