About the role
Research is essential for providing the knowledge and understanding needed to make informed decisions about how to manage forests sustainably, while identifying new technologies and innovative solutions to support their long-term sustainability and resilience through adaptive forest management. STT recognises the importance of scientific rigor in developing effective conservation and biodiversity outcomes, meeting the demands of society, ensuring sustainable practices in forest harvesting, and improving operational efficiency.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Lead to join our team. The Research Lead will Support the effective management of STT's research, development, extension and innovation program. This position initiates and manages projects which introduce new technologies, processes and systems to the STT business with a focus on products, practices and services to enhance sustainable forest management.
This is a permanent, full-time position.
This role is based in our Hobart office (Bathurst Street), but could be located at any STT location by negotiation with the successful applicant. There will be some intrastate travel involved with the role.
