The ACT Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate is seeking Expressions of Interest to fill seven member vacancies on the ACT Scientific Committee

The appointments will commence on 1 July 2024 and run to 30 June 2027. Members will be remunerated for their participation in 4-6 face-to-face meetings per year.

The Scientific Committee's primary functions are detailed under the Nature Conservation Act 2014 and are primarily to advise the Minister for the Environment and the Conservator of Flora and Fauna about Nature Conservation.

Applicants must have extensive scientific expertise in fields related to terrestrial and/or aquatic ecology or biology, conservation science or conservation management. In addition to these qualifications, applicants with traditional ecological knowledge applicable to the ACT will be highly favoured.
