The Opportunity

As a casual Bush Crew Member you will be a part of a field based team undertaking land management activities in bushland, parks, reserves, and waterways to achieve environmental project outcomes.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Application of a wide variety of weed control techniques including use of herbicides.
  • General labouring, revegetation and watering.
  • Operating and maintaining a range of handheld power tools.
  • Contributing to a safe work environment including participation in safety conversations, hazard identification and reporting.
  • Understanding and implementing operating procedures.
  • Completing administrative tasks and data collection using mobility platforms.

You will have:

  • Experience working in either bush crew, arboriculture, landscape gardening or in related field as a labourer.
  • Knowledge of both indigenous and exotic vegetation within Greater Melbourne and experience with herbicide application would be highly regarded.
  • Ability to work proactively and constructively in a team environment.
  • Sound interpersonal skills and the capability to communicate clearly and effectively with work colleges and the general public.
  • Physically fit and capable of working outside.
  • Construction OHS Induction card (White Card).
  • First Aid Level 2.
  • Relevant TAFE or University education would be highly regarded.
  • Driver's licence and own vehicle.
  • A genuine passion for the environment.
