About the location:

The town of Wollongong, in the Illawarra NSW, is a hive of cultural activity located only 70 km from Sydney. Our office is in a repurposed building; your office views include the escarpment and quaint village life in Austinmer (with great coffee options); and your lunchtime walk taking in the iconic Austi Beach, just a short stroll down the lane.

About you:

This role will allow you to combine your passion for ecology, environmental management, legislative knowledge, and well-developed writing and project management skills to create high quality work and great outcomes for our clients and the environment. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in the fields of botany or zoology and be capable of providing environmental advice and guidance to our clients.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science/Ecology or related discipline.
  • At least five years' ecological experience (preferably in NSW).
  • Strong flora or fauna species knowledge and identification skills.
  • Experience planning and undertaking ecological fieldwork.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience preparing a range of high-quality reports, such as environmental assessments and management plans.
  • Current driver's licence.

It is also desirable that you have:

  • BAM assessor accreditation.
  • Ecological consulting experience.
  • Working knowledge of NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation.
  • Project management skills and experience.
