Position Description: The Wetlands Project Officer is responsible for the initiation and development of programs and projects to improve the ecological health of wetlands and floodplains within the Murraylands and Riverland region, with particular emphasis on the River Murray. The Wetlands Project Officer undertakes the management of priority wetlands, field monitoring and community engagement within a geographical area of the River Murray.

Contract Period: Until 28 April 2023.

Special Conditions:

• Some out-of-hours work, inter and intrastate travel involving overnight absences, and attendance at public meetings out of normal office hours may be required.
• A flexible approach to duty hours and taking of leave is essential.
• May be required to travel by powered boat and/or kayak.
• Staff are encouraged to wear the appropriate uniform in any public setting to represent Landscape SA in a professional manner.
• Complete and apply First Aid training.

Requirements:

• Tertiary degree qualification or equivalent in Natural Resources Management, Environmental Science or Biological Sciences is essential.
• Current driver’s license and willingness to drive (including off-road travel) are essential.
