National Parks and Wildlife Service has an exciting opportunity to join the Area leadership team and support the delivery of the National Parks EBMP.
We are looking for hard working, reliable individuals with strong team supervision skills.
About the role
Reporting to Senior Field Supervisor, you'll work closely with field officers and other staff to co-ordinate, supervise, and implement the Bushfire Program for the South Coast Branch. The EBMP field team is primarily involved in fuel reduction activities by both mechanical means and prescribed fire and, during periods of high bushfire activity, may be required to participate in bushfire suppression or other bushfire response functions.
Supervising and developing a team plays a critical role as well as your ability to adapt to change, finding solutions to problems and ensuring safety is always a priority. Heavy plant experience is an advantage.
National Parks and Wildlife Service is an equal opportunity employer. Hear from some of our female staff about working with NPWS.
About the branch
The South Coast Branch manages over 114 parks and reserves, from the northern suburbs of Wollongong in the north to Victorian border in the south and includes Montague Island Nature Reserve (listed under the IUCN Green List), and Aboriginal-owned and jointly managed Biamanga and Gulaga national parks.
Our parks and reserves are home to unique plants and animals, ranging from tall eucalypt forest to coastal heaths. Each year, over 3 million visitors enjoy our spectacular beaches and high-quality walking tracks.
