$80,000 - $90,000 p.a. + super + work vehicle. Full-time.

The Company:

Woods Environmental Services is a well-established company that provides on ground services in Natural Resource Management throughout the Melbourne metropolitan region and surrounds.  We have depots in the Yarra Valley and Laverton North and primarily deliver works for government organisations such as Melbourne Water, Parks Vic, Vic Roads, DELWP and various Local Councils.

About the Role:

Based in Laverton North, the West Depot Supervisor will be managing our west NRM crew. Your responsibilities will include quotations and estimates, planning, stakeholder engagement, crew scheduling, and delivery of the NRM program with safety being paramount. The projects can be both long term capital projects to small corrective maintenance works with multiple projects running simultaneously daily.

  • Responsible for ensuring the proper upkeep of vehicles, tools, and equipment.

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing field crews in Environmental, Conservation and Land Management related fields.
  • Experience in development and delivery of projects, including the development of project plans, monitoring of project timelines, budgets and reporting requirements, and contract administration.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Competency and knowledge in a variety of environmental and natural resource management techniques and methodologies including revegetation, weed control and herbicide application.
  • Indigenous and exotic flora species identification skills.
  • A drive and willingness to troubleshoot, apply problem solving skills, identify innovation and recommend solutions that achieve on ground quality, safety, technical and productivity outcomes.
  • Leadership and communication skills, with an ability to work in a team environment and proactively communicate clearly and effectively with a range of people.
  • Ensure Crew leaders and crew are competant to operate all equipment safely and correctly, including small plant and hand tools.

Qualifications/ Licences:     

  • Tertiary qualification in Conservation and Land Management/Environmental Science or equivalent.
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence
  • ACUP
  • Valid Covid-19 Vaccination Record
  • First Aid Level 2
  • White Card
