About the Role

The aim of ecological restoration is to assist the recovery of an ecosystem that has been degraded, damaged or destroyed. As an Ecological Restoration Team Leader, you will oversee the implementation of on ground works in and around the Gold Coast by coordinating and carrying out restoration works across a large range of sites, diversity of ecosystems and for a range of clients. Your role will balance working in the field as a Bush Regeneration Supervisor and spending time in the office coordinating works such as rosters, equipment and project materials, as well as working with clients, Ecological Restoration management and team members including mentoring and training.

About You

  • Experienced ecological restoration practitioner with knowledge, skills and experience in a range of ecological restoration approaches.
  • Experienced team leader with:
    • o great communication skills,
    • o strong understanding of operational safety and managing hazards,
    • o ability to organise, resource and schedule work across various teams and projects.
    • o capability to evaluate and manage staff,
    • o ability to build successful team dynamics.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in ecological restoration including assisted regeneration, revegetation and applying a range of weed control techniques and practices.
  • Capability to work within scheduled timeframes, budgets, health and safety, and quality requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and understand the region and range of projects and stakeholders.
  • Capability to assist with proposal and report writing, monitoring and budget development to provide project support.
  • High level interpersonal and client relationship management skills including aptitude for developing customer relationships.
  • Certificate IV in Conservation and Land Management (Natural Area Restoration) or equivalent level of experience.
  • Manual Drivers Licence.
  • First Aid/CPR.
  • ChemCert or ACDC certification.

  • Project management skills.
  • Trainer and Assessor Qualifications.
  • 4WD competency.
  • Chainsaw competency.
