Our Environment team has a great opportunity for Senior or Early Career stage Environmental Scientists or Engineers with specialist experience in contaminated land assessment and remediation to join us in our Launceston office and support a broad range of exciting and diverse client projects in northern Tasmania.

You will be involved in varied and interesting projects that include landfill gas, groundwater, waste soil, surface water and petroleum contamination site assessment, monitoring and reporting.

Working with the team and broader GHD business, you have terrific longer-term career prospects and will see you involved in:

  • Providing field and office based technical guidance on assessment and remediation projects
  • Supporting project managers in the delivery of projects including field investigations, data management and technical reporting for contaminated site assessments
  • Proactively learning or mentoring in required skill areas, including project management and partner engagement
  • Field investigations including groundwater monitoring, drilling (soil-vapour well install, ground water well installation, soil sampling), test pits, waste soil classification, on site management of safety and contractors, logging and observations of site works and conditions
  • Office based tasks including data management, management and filing of field records, review and interpretation of results, report writing

What would you bring to the team?

  • Experience in contaminated land assessment & remediation, including field skills in site assessment and monitoring and awareness of principles of contamination assessment
  • Between 5 and 15 years of experience in fields related to contaminated land consulting
  • Bachelor’s degree qualification in Science (Environmental, Geology, Hydrogeology & related) or Engineering (Environmental & related)
  • A strong team and work ethic
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
