Envite operates in VIC, NSW & QLD and is the Environmental Division of Workways Australia Ltd – a nationwide employment, youth, community & environmental services organisation.

About the role

Location: East Gippsland

Contract: Work to commence in January 2022, fixed term, full time contract over 6 months

As a Bushfire Recovery Trainee, you’ll be responsible for undertaking natural resource management (NRM) activities, including bush regeneration, weed control, revegetation, species and site assessments, landscaping, nursery and light construction activities. You’ll participate in training and assessments to gain a Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management.

These are entry-level roles aimed at individuals interested in exploring a career in the conservation and land management sector. You will develop the skills, knowledge and experience needed to prepare you for work.

Some of the key duties of this role include:

  • Participate in training and assessments to gain accredited qualifications in key modules from the Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management.
  • Undertake practical work in bush regeneration, plant propagation, site preparation, revegetation / tree planting, track maintenance and other environmental restoration / land management tasks aligned with your training.
  • Carry out maintenance of tools, equipment, machinery and infrastructure used in the conduct of ground work activities.
  • Contribute to a constructive and team-based workplace culture, attend employee meetings and undertake professional development.
  • Receive tailored advice and assistance to gain work following your placement.
