Expressions of Interest - volunteer position

Noosa and District Landcare Group (NDLG) is a major not-for-profit group undertaking a wide range of environmental activities in the Noosa Hinterland and its surroundings. Turnover last fiscal year was multi-million with a growth of 16 percent. The operation is profitable. It is one of the largest not for profit employers in the Shire.

The operations report through the General Manager, Phil Moran, to a Management Committee that includes the President, Secretary, Treasurer and 3 other members.

The Treasurer, Dick Barnes has been in the position for over 8 years during which time NDLG has grown and changed substantially. The time has come to look for a volunteer to work with Dick while getting familiar with the operations and to take over at a suitable time in the near future.

There is a good administration team that produce reliable management information so this role is one of planning, watching progress and opening up options for the future. As such, experience of a growing business and the ability to coach the organization and stand above the day to day are traits that have helped us well in the development years. Having said that, the usual fiscal responsibilities are involved. We are pleased to say that the NDLG has had a clean audit for over a decade.

In summary, we are looking for an experienced Finance Director or equivalent who would like to volunteer and contribute to this vibrant and important community group.

All applicants will be reviewed by Dick and Phil, a shortlist prepared and applicants interviewed by these two plus the Chair and Secretary of NDLG.

We hope you find this opportunity to contribute to a major community group specializing in the environment as exciting as we do.
