About the Role

Responsible for the coordination of a number of exciting new and emerging projects being delivered by Envite’s environment field teams in East Gippsland, including threatened flora monitoring, habitat management for threatened fauna, ecological restoration planning and on-ground works, and bushfire recovery conservation traineeships. Development of new partnerships, opportunities and programs in the region and more broadly. This is both an office-based and a field-based role (approximate 70:30 split in the initial 6 months).

Contract Type:  Full Time, 12 month fixed term contract.

Some of the key duties of this role include:

  • Under the direction of the Environment State Manager, oversee and assist in the delivery of various environmental, natural resources management (NRM) and bushfire recovery projects by Envite’s field teams.
  • Supervise, motivate, guide, support and direct the activities, work practices and techniques of field teams undertaking species and site assessments and monitoring, NRM, ecological restoration, bushfire recovery, maintenance and light construction activities.
  • Oversee and undertake site and risk assessments for all locations in which work is undertaken, including reporting of identified risks.
  • In conjunction with State Manager, schedule and prioritise work activities and ensure adequate resources and equipment are available for the efficient and effective delivery of environmental projects and services.
  • Coordinate activities by developing work plans and tracking progress on projects to ensure they are delivered on budget, on time and meet the prescribed quality standards, contractual and licensing requirements.
  • Record, prepare and submit work records and reports as required for funding bodies, managers, project partners and others.
  • Assist with the preparation of quotations, budgets, development of work plans and assessment of resources, equipment and materials required for environmental project works.
  • Ensure tools, equipment and other resources are well maintained.
  • Liaise and develop linkages with land managers, project partners, agencies, community groups, the public and others to promote and further develop Envite’s activities and services.

This role is part of the EnviTE Environment arm of Workways Australia Ltd.
