We are seeking up to three executive committee members to contribute expertise and experience to guide the activities of the Upper Murrumbidgee Catchment Network (UMCN). Our focus is on creating networking opportunities and events where member groups share knowledge and collaborate on environmental projects in the ACT, and Yass Valley, Queanbeyan-Palerang and Snowy-Monaro Regional Council areas.

UMCN is a strong and diverse community-based network of individuals and representatives from agencies and groups taking a coordinated approach to creating quality natural resource management outcomes for the Upper Murrumbidgee Catchment (upstream of Burrinjuck Dam).

Ideal candidates will be personally or professionally engaged with natural resource management in the Upper Murrumbidgee Catchment and may bring personal and/or organisational perspectives to our committee. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Attending quarterly executive meetings (online) and quarterly general meetings.
  • Contributing towards developing themes for general meetings and community forums.
  • Working in collaboration with other committee members and Executive Officer.
  • Providing feedback to continually improve our organisation.

Committee members are required to attend quarterly executive meetings of 2 hours duration (online) and quarterly general meetings of 3 hours duration. Day to day activities, mostly in the form of email communications, take no more than 2 hours per week. All executives are supported by a part-time Executive Officer.

Executive Committee terms are 12 months, with the option to renew annually. Appointments are subject to ratification at our AGM.

Executive Committee Members must hold a current UMCN membership, which can be organised concurrently with committee appointment.
