The Kangaroo Island Landscape Board (KILB) currently has several exciting opportunities for people who possess a strong commitment to conservation and land management projects. Following the devastating 2019-2020 Kangaroo Island bushfires, the KILB is delivering a range of threatened species, water resource and pest management programs, and is assisting fire-affected landholders to re-build and protect their properties.

There are casual and short-term contract positions (up to 12 months) available across multiple projects, including:

  • Kangaroo Island dunnart recovery
  • Feral cat eradication
  • Feral cat control to protect threatened species in bushfire-affected habitats
  • Water resources
  • Narrow-leaved mallee recovery
  • Glossy Black-cockatoo recovery
  • Weed control
  • Feral pig control
  • Coast and marine

These various roles will assist Project Officers and Managers to implement a range of important natural resource management activities. Depending on seasonal requirements, roles may include operational planning, field work, data collection, assisting with analysis of data, drafting/editing content, and engaging with landholders in a variety of areas.
