The Executive Assistant Co-management is responsible for confidential secretarial and administrative support to the Co-management Boards and Advisory Committees in the Eyre and Far West Region. 

About the role

The Executive Assistant Co-management is responsible for confidential secretarial and administrative support to the Co-management Boards and Advisory Committees in the Eyre and Far West Region. The incumbent will work closely with the Corporate Services team to effectively support the operation of the Eyre and Far West Region and will be responsible for:

  • coordinating travel, accommodation, sitting fee payments and venue arrangements for Board Members within required timeframes;
  • contributing to the achievement of team and organisational objectives;
  • ensuring Board and Committee meetings are well coordinated with agendas and papers prepared and distributed in an efficient and timely manner;
  • true and correct records of Board and Committee meetings and business are distributed and kept in accordance with DEW requirements;
  • the effective flow of information and communication is reflective of decisions made between the Boards and/ or Committees, the Minister, relevant DEW personnel, stakeholders and other organisations;
  • ensuring the Chairpersons and Executive Officers of Co-management Boards and Advisory Committees are provided with confidential and professional support services, and projects arising from the Co-management Boards and Advisory Committees are managed as appropriate.

Special Conditions

  • This is a part time ongoing contract, working 18.75 hours per week.
  • The position is based in Ceduna SA but may be required to locate to another part of the region.
  • Will be required to participate in fire management and associated duties.
  • A current ‘C’ class driver's licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is essential.
  • The position may require some work outside of normal hours, with remote travel within the region, intra and interstate, necessitating overnight stays which may involve camping.
  • Must be prepared to comply with any mandatory requirements including training and immunisation.
  • Knowledge of Aboriginal customs and language are highly desirable.
  • This role has functions pertaining to working with children and is prescribed under the Child Safety (Prohibited Person) Act 2016 as requiring a Working With Children Check (WWCC). By applying for this role you consent to being screened for appropriate behaviour and to the Department obtaining, or requiring you to obtain a WWCC.
  • This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework.
