Western Plains Flora is a wholesale tubestock production nursery. We specialise in the production of indigenous flora for revegetation works in grasslands, grassy woodlands and other EVC's. 

We grow a wide range of species to service the needs of many clients in the North/West of Melbourne. We are looking for someone with a keen interest in local flora especially grassland species. Good plant ID skills are essential. 

Qualifications in Horticulture and/or NRM are desirable.

Production of local flora is an interesting but complex task. To do this we need people who are multiskilled and adaptable. For instance, willing and able to perform many and varied tasks in the nursery. The role will be varied and will involve seed collection, assisting with seed orchard and seedbank management/grassland restoration works and office works. Plant production experience is desirable. 

The position is full time Monday to Friday with above award wages. If you take pride in your work and enjoy being a part of a successful team then this job could be for you. 

Essential Selection Criteria

• Experience in plant production and management (seed/cuttings/division)
• Good indigenous plant ID skills (grasses, wildflowers, etc)
• Experience in the use of Microsoft Office programs
• Proficient with MYOB
• Office admin experience
• Must pay attention to detail with accuracy in record keeping
• Good work ethics, fit and healthy with reliable transport
