The Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA) is seeking applications for an upcoming vacant Chair position on the Northern Prawn Fishery Resource Assessment Group (NPRAG).
The Northern Prawn Fishery (NPF) operates in Northern Australian Waters targeting a number of prawn species.
The NPRAG is the principal forum where issues relating to scientific assessment and status of the Northern Prawn Fishery are discussed, reviewed and developed. It provides AFMA with scientific and economic advice on the biological, economic and wider ecological factors affecting the fishery and RAG advice is used to inform AFMA’s management decisions.
AFMA’s policy document Fisheries Administration Paper 12 (FAP 12) - Resource Assessment Groups provides information about the roles of RAG Chairs and their members (to download a copy, see below).
The NPRAG Chair appointment will be from 1 April 2021 until 1 March 2024 in line with the rest of the RAG’s terms of appointment.
How do I apply for RAG membership?
