About our team
Local Land Services (LLS) is an Executive Agency related to the cluster. It provides quality, customer-focused services to landholders and the community across New South Wales.
This regionally based organisation brings together a wide range of service and advisory functions including agriculture, biosecurity, natural resource management, land management, biodiversity, emergency services, private native forestry and the Soil Conservation Service.
About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Land services officer to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for delivering services and advice to farmers and the community to help them manage our landscapes to be healthy and productive.
As a Senior Land Services Officer (SLSO) you will be working closely with project partners and local landholders to deliver on-ground works projects that improve natural resources across the North Coast region. You will also provide extension services to promote best practice and deliver emergency planning, preparedness, and response and recovery services.
This role will involve overseeing on-ground works incentive projects, working closely with government, industry and private partners to deliver good environmental outcomes. You will work with a multidisciplinary team within LLS and building strong working relationships with relevant communities in the region
To be successful in this position you will have strong project management skills and knowledge on incentive project delivery.
Your strong negotiation skills will assist you in resolving complex natural resource management and agricultural productivity issues which in turn will facilitate the development of collaborative partnerships with diverse stakeholders and clients.
As an inspiring leader you will provide leadership and support to small project teams, monitor the evaluation, reporting and improvement of programs and projects and contribute to strategic planning.
An ability to balance a range of competing priorities and projects in an environment of high workload, rigorous accountability, strict deadlines and high community expectation along with successful legislation and interpretation is essential to the success of this role.
A talent pool may be created from this recruitment action for ongoing and temporary roles of the same standard that may become available for filling over the next eighteen months. The successful applicant in this role may be required to undergo a police check, health assessment and other assessments as required.
