About the position

The Forest Management and Roading Officer performs a key role in achieving forest management objectives across the Murrindindi District.

The key focus of this position is coordinating road management activities across the district, including forest road construction, improvements and maintenance and associated administration.

The position will ensure road management activities are undertaken in an efficient and effective manner to meet professional engineering standards and in accordance with existing legislation, policies, plans and codes of practice.

The position will provide advice and support on the management of road networks, liaise with other businesses, manage budgets, supervise work crews and contractors.

About you

You will have strong leadership and supervision skills, as you will be managing and deploying teams to achieve operational outcomes. You will ensure administrative requirements are met -and you have demonstrated planning and organising skills and are comfortable with the administrative aspect of the role.

You have well-honed communication skills - both written and verbal. You have come from a background where you have had substantial stakeholder engagement. Therefore, you approach all stakeholders with an extraordinary high level of professionalism.

Building professional relationships with others is natural for you and you manage all conversations with ease - as you navigate and resolve complex issues, expectations and the general demands and priorities of the role. You are an active listener and know how to appropriately respond under any given situation.
