About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Team Leader Hub SOS to lead a team to ensure quality performance and outputs are effectively coordinated to deliver the Saving our Species Program (SoS) regionally.

The highly motivated and result-driven individual would develop, deliver, promote and evaluate long-term operational plans to support the overall success of the Saving our Species Program. This role would prepare high level written reports, submissions, briefing notes and ministerial correspondence on a range of issues as required.

Reporting to the Director and managing a team of 2 to 5 employees, we are looking for a problem solver to lead the implementation of operational policies and governance guidelines and compliance, and achieve effective communication across teams to ensure internal and external relationships are effectively managed. The Senior Team Leader will:

  • Negotiate with, and provide expert advice to senior management to coordinate the delivery of the Saving our Species Program activities and outcomes
  • Represent North Hub on a range of forums to influence and provide expert advice on operational activities ensuring consistency with government policy and legislative requirements
  • Manage, control and report on budgetary spending in line with funding policies and guidelines

Essential requirements

  • Previous experience leading the operational and strategic requirements for the successful delivery of a threatened species, environmental or natural resource project or in the context of current policy and legislative frameworks.
  • Experience developing, implementing and monitoring strategic and operational plans for the delivery of complex programs, with a demonstrated track record of providing direction and achieving results through multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage the people and financial resources of a team to consistently deliver against agreed performance.
