The opportunity

This role will be part of the Data and Analytics team and contribute to the improvement of conservation outcomes for Australian birds by managing, using and promoting Birdata.  Birdata is an online platform and app that enables people across Australia to collect scientific data that helps BirdLife to understand and protect Australia’s birds.

To be successful, it is essential that you have a relevant degree and/or demonstrated experience in ecological data and/or data management, together with an understanding of bird identification, monitoring and ecology.  Experience in a customer-facing role and/or working with volunteers, with a demonstrated ability to resolve issues and deliver best outcomes will be highly valued.  A passion for citizen science and its application to conservation outcomes will be key. What you need to know 

This is a casual position estimated to be 0.2 to 0.6 FTE - negotiable.  The position is preferably based in Victoria in the National Office in Carlton.  Alternative locations will be considered based on strategic merit.

Applicants must possess corresponding work rights to be eligible for appointment and a current national police check (NPC) (or willingness to obtain).
